Mid-2011, Ringebu, Norway. Most of us probably don’t even know where Ringebu is located, but yet it’s the place to be at this time of the year. Why? The answer is simple; it’s the location for the 2011 Norwegian Classics meeting. Because Gearbox Magazine is for every gearhead around the globe, we try to report on as many interesting events/meetings/happenings around the world as we can. This time, that’s Norway, so come take a look how they do things in Ringebu.
We bring you mostly pictures this time out. Do they give you any ideas?

The only Subaru attending

Magnificent Celica ST
The number of rare and exceptional examples of the Japanese automakers is incredible. Even a super rare Mazda RX-4 and Subaru GFT made their appearance.

A beautiful Swedish Mazda 929

The prize winners in a row
The Datsun Fairlady, we can only imagine what it’s like to drive one.

Magnificent and very rare dark-blue mazda rx4 in the middle.

More Toyota Crowns (we are currently going through a phase).

Ultra-cool Datsun

Doesn’t the scene above look familiar? This meet is in Norway, but if you’re a gearhead, chances are good you’ve attended a similar event. Do you see anything in common?

- Beautiful… It’s the only word that comes to mind….

First 3 people to correctly identify the vehicle below (in the comment section) will get a GBXM decal in the mail!

When we look at pictures like these, we are reminded just how much we have in common with our gearhead brothers and sisters around the world. Do you see yourself as part of a global community of automotive enthusiasts? How does that feel, knowing you’re part of an international movement promoting the responsible care and ownership of vehicles because they are more than just transportation? Why do you think our Norwegian brothers and sisters collect the old school Japanese cars?
