Gearhead Manifesto V
This is the fifthof SIX installments detailing our beliefs on the global gearhead movement. These will lead to the rules, so – if you’re a real gearhead – please make a point of letting us know how you feel about these statements. Do you agree or disagree? Did we miss anything?
#GTKY: Junkyard Gold
We’re a lot like a discussion forum, only we usually only have one new post per day and you don’t have to register to reply. That said, it’s time for more #GTKY, our weekly effort to get to know the gearheads of the world. This week, we want to know about the biggest score you ever made at the junkyard (and show off this clever picture we found of what we’re calling a Mazda RX-3-and-a-half).
Junkyards: Introducing a New Concept!
We are continuously searching for ways to make us stand out from the crowd. This time we’ve got a new concept for you; our readers! Ever looked at a junkyard article on the Internet? A very nice gallery with lots and lots of cars and even more usable parts. You look at this one picture and look! , there´s a part you’ve been searching quite a while for now. You decide to comment on the gallery, asking the author for the location of the junkyard, but you get no reaction. You email the author and he simply tells you he keeps the location private or secret. How cool would it be if you could just tell the author to go grab a part for you and have him send it to you, wherever on this globe you might be?
Justin Removed the Rice & Doubled the Horsepower
For me Justin’s Civic is one of the nicest in the Netherlands and he really deserved this interview. He’s installed a lot of rare parts and doubled the horsepower by swapping the original 1.5L engine for a Japanese TYPE-R engine. This is an interview with a really passionate owner of a beautiful ’93 Civic.
#GTKY: Where Are You From?
Welcome back to #GTKY, our weekly quest to learn more about the people who read GBXM. We know people hit this site from pretty much every continent, but if we’re going to build a new kind of global automotive community, why don’t we get to know each other?
Importing a Japanese Classic Car to the Netherlands; Part Two
Today we´ll continue where we left about a month ago. I´ve found the car worth all the trouble, now it´s time to get it here and get it imported before the end of 2011. How strict will they be when it comes to importing a nearly 40 years old Toyota? What will it cost? How much time will it take to get everything sorted out and receive my papers? Let´s find out!
DIY: Electrical Spares Kit
It’s Wednesday night. You’ve felt like crap all day, spent an hour waiting to see a doctor at the local urgent care clinic, and just stepped out into the night to finally think about getting some dinner. It’s 8PM, you’re sick, you’re tired, and you still feel like crap. And now your headlights aren’t working? C’mon!
TGIF: 11/18/11
The weekend is upon us once again. Do you have automotive plans? Plans in general? We’d like to know, so we’re going to start asking every Friday – just like we’re doing now. And we’ll also be leaving comments to tell you what we’re up to just to get things started.
Introducing: The Rally Monster
Quick, scroll down and look at the right side of the page. See the link for The Rally Monster? Today we’d like to formally introduce you to Emily, who is personally handling our shirts and decals here-on out. Thinking about a GBXM shirt or decal for Christmas? Get to know the gearhead who will be making it for you!
