None of us at Gearbox Magazine does this “for the money.”
Simply put – there is none. We do this because it needs done. You can help, too. Contact us if you’d like to be a contributor or Official Partner.
Rob's a Mitsubishi man.
It seems that as of late, these communities wait to learn, and lack enthusiasm. Gearbox can help people wonder what if and perhaps accomplish these what if’s. I want to see enthusiasm and voluntary contribution by the community. Gearbox can bring new ideas to the table and help people learn new things. It can stimulate the thought process and help people get more involved. I hope that Gearbox can “jump start” a reader into becoming a bigger part of the community on their own, without being asked. I want readers to come with new ideas or leads because they want to, because that’s how pumped Gearbox magazine got them. So pumped, that everyone wants to be part of the team. – Rob Douglas (founder, Mitsu-Media.com), Mitsubishi Gearbox

I want to see gearheads friends with gearheads. I know there are the unspoken lines between import and muscle owners. You can’t like both at the same time. I say, “Screw that!” I own a DSM and a Corvette. I love both for different reasons. But it all comes down to the fact they they both make me smile. – Kim Schuenman (Girl in the Black Car), GM, Drag, Diesel, Mitsubishi Gearbox
Dave's eKart
I joined Gearbox because it gave me a great outlet for writing about something I love, and learning a huge amount in the process, about electrics, running a blog, meeting and interviewing people who share the passion. – Dave Hymers, EV Gearbox
Stephen's GVR4 (he now races an Evo X)
Gearbox has a unique opportunity to bring real world content to it’s readers. The automotive industry seems to be running around chasing stories that will bring the most publicity leaving the gearheads of the planet starving for actual content. So in a long term accomplishment, I think Gearbox is in a position to “Save the Gearheads” of the planet. – Stephen Burke (Rochester DSM One Lap), Mitsubishi Gearbox
Nakazoto enjoys the finer things.
I’d love to see Gearbox gain the same kind of notoriety as the juggernaut websites (Speedhunters, Motor Mavens, etc.). I think the fatal flaw with those sites is that the readers can rarely connect with any of the stories they post. In this sense I feel that Gearbox has hit a niche, quite possibly the most important niche to hit! The people with some of the most innovative ideas and unbelievable stories are the readers and I’d love to see Gearbox bring the readers to spotlight! – David Lovett (Nakazoto), JDM Gearbox

Daisy's last hurrah - 12.2006
I would like to see us all working together to make “gearhead” stand for something. I want the rest of the world to think gearheads are respectable automotive enthusiasts who advance the ideals of learning, doing things right, and going fast with class. I want people to see the value being “into cars” brings to the world. – Brian Driggs, founder
Go fast with class.
Press on regardless.
